Sustainability Engineering & Management
Sweden
After completing my B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering at Koç University, I earned an M.Sc. in Sustainability Engineering & Management at Linköping University in Sweden. I built on my engineering education through academic work focused on the relationship between sustainability, corporate management and finance.
My professional qualifications include the IFRS Foundation FSA Credential Holder and GRI Certified Sustainability Professional designations.
I served as a Sustainability Manager in the sustainability teams at Yapı Kredi and QNB Finansbank. My responsibilities covered sustainability management, ESG assessments, climate strategy and sustainable finance processes. I now bring that experience of working with internal departments and management teams to consulting projects across different sectors.
My advisory work covers TSRS and IFRS S1/S2 alignment, climate and sustainability risk and opportunity assessment, scenario analysis, financial impact and carbon emissions calculations, double materiality, LSEG ESG assessments, and GRI and integrated reporting processes. In each project, I consider the company’s business model, governance and data systems together, preparing technical analyses that can inform management decisions and corporate disclosures.
My project experience spans banking, financing, insurance and pensions, automotive and commercial vehicles, aviation, retail, food, agriculture and spices. In energy, I have worked with organisations involved in electricity generation, renewable energy, electricity distribution and retail supply, as well as oil and refining.
Other areas in which I have contributed to projects include iron and steel, chemicals, paper and cardboard packaging, stationery, marble and natural stone mining, diversified holding companies, industrial digital transformation, environmental and waste management, and local government. This breadth of experience allows me to assess each sustainability topic within the activities, value chain and financial context of the sector concerned.
In my master’s thesis, I examined the alignment of corporate sustainability reporting frameworks with the Sustainable Development Goals. A study I co-authored with Pontus Cerin and Yang Liu was published in 2022 in the Journal of Cleaner Production. In this research, we developed an approach for using different SDG guides together in corporate reporting.
